- Apply perfume, hair spray, and other cosmetics before putting on your pearls and gemstone jewellery.
- Clean jewellery often. After wearing your pearls, wipe them with a soft damp cloth to remove any traces of cosmetic products or body oils.
- Wash your gemstones periodically with a mild soap and a soft cloth, to remove any accumulated build-up.
- Clean your rhodium plated silver jewellery with a 100% cotton cloth or a special sterling silver cleaning cloth or very soft bristle brush. Never use any chemicals on your rhodium plated silver items and don't use polishing cloths that are intended for use on uncoated silver or for gold jewelry. Also, don't place your rhodium plated silver jewellery in an ultrasonic cleaner and never use abrasives or silver dips of any kind or any ammonia based product.
- Do not wear jewellery while sleeping, showering, washing dishes or doing physical activities. Even natural body oils and perspiration can dull pearls' luster or cloud their brilliance.
- Store pieces separately from other jewellery to avoid scratching and damage.
- Use your MeganKyle linen pouch to store your pearls both at home and when travelling.
- Have your pearls restrung and knotted for safety periodically – perhaps once a year or so if you wear them often.
- Handle your jewellery with care around hard surfaces.
- When putting on stretch or beaded bracelets tuck your thumb to touch inside of your palm and gently roll bracelets on to avoid stretching them out of shape.
- Be gentle when bending posts and opening cuffs.
